A 10 Year Old, A Phone and A Mother
I am still not sure how I feel about my 10 year old son having a phone. Before you get your panties in a bunch, he does not have access to the internet, so there is no worry there.
That is not the story. The story is that I sent my son a text the other day. Now I send my son text messages often, but this was no ordinary text.
This was a text from the OTHER room. Yes, you read that correctly.
I was working on my laptop in my office and heard him roaming the house around 8am. Without even thinking, I texted him, ‘Did you feed the dog?’ I heard his phone ring, and one second later I hear him say, “Mr. Chubbs, come on, let’s eat.”
I felt satisifed. Somewhat accomplished for a second.
Right after I did it, I reflected on the action. It is amazing how times have changed.
It is times like this I question myself, what would a ‘Good Mother’ think of that?
Anyone else relate?
